While Steffanie was getting ready she got a visit from a this special butterfly. I'm confident that this little critter brought her luck since this whole week has been stormy, but yesterday was absolutely beautiful...both the weather and wedding, which took place at First United Methodist Church and Galleria Marchetti. We'll post more details and pictures soon, but for now, enjoy this sneak peek!

Kids always make covering weddings interesting. Especially at great heights.

A haiku for a rainy wedding:
wedding day rain
is not really bad
we say: wet bride is lucky bride

If you're not exactly a big fan of cake, you may want to consider having a wedding pie! Down the street from our studio is the wonderful Hoosier Mama Pie Company, and we recently had the pleasure of seeing them serve up delicious dishes of apple, banana cream, French silk, strawberry rhubarb and other wonderful pies at Steve and Elaine's wedding. The bride and groom even had an elaborate double-decker banana cream wedding pie instead of cake. The creative couple made the cake toppers themselves out of clothes pins. So cute.

Regina went with a sexy red dress to match her beautiful roses at her cocktail style reception. Having a second dress for your reception can be a fun way to further express your style beyond the wedding gown.

Helpful bridesmaids are the best thing in the world for any bride. If you have thoughtful, reliable and supportive friends and/or siblings to help rock your wedding day (so you avoid seeing the other side of that coin) be sure to thank them well. It cannot be over-stated how wonderful it is to be surrounded by cheerful and helpful bridesmaids...(or even just a few reliable pals if you are not having a bridal party).

Flowers at the reception. This painting was behind the wall for the placecards table. So dreamy.

Cigars, Cigarettes, Chicklets....the sister of the bride handles cigarette girl duties at Kerrie and Bill's 1940s inspired reception. The box was mostly filled with fun classic candies like Blow Pops and Bullseyes. It was a great idea for after-dinner cocktails and dancing.

If you ever wrote notes on your sneakers in high school, then maybe you will also like having secret messages or words on the bottoms of your wedding shoes? They can be inspiring, sweet, or just plain fun, and make for unique pictures. You can make your own designs, or find some wedding-themed ones that are ready-made to stick on your shoes. Bride Stefanie sported these cute "I Do" gems under her souls.

Some couples face a dilemma when considering the processional. For various reasons, sometimes the tradition of father escorting bride is not a viable option. While there are many solutions to how to make the grand entrance, many brides and grooms are choosing to walk down the isle together and start their marriage arm in arm. Renee and Jason did this at their intimate wedding at Mrs Murphy & Son's Irish Bistro.
